My name is Janet and I hail from the beautiful province of Nova Scotia on Canada’s East Coast. I go to movies, rent movies, DVR movies, and occasionally like to go places and see things in the real world as well. I also like to write, but despite a brief short-story writing class and writing papers for school, have never really shared anything publicly. Now seemed as good a time as any to start!
The title “Popcorn Dinner” was the inspiration of my friend K who writes a fun travel blog over at Bite-sized Travel and we’ve been frequent movie companions over the many, many years we’ve known each other. “Popcorn dinner” is something we’d say when we were going straight from work to the early show – where we would have to choose between a real dinner or our favourite movie snack. Sophie herself couldn’t make that choice! Hence, “popcorn dinner” was born.
Let’s see, what else do you need to know… My absolute favourite movie snack is a combo of salty popcorn and sweet, sweet chocolate (M&Ms work best). Preferred place to sit in a movie theatre – right in the middle (not too close to the screen, not too far back and no one has to crawl over you). In addition to going to the movies, I’m a big fan of the small screen too, and I wholeheartedly agree with Richard Belzer’s character on Homicide: Life on the Street when he said: “Love, money, revenge. Of all the various insundry motives for murder, talking in the movies is the most reasonable excuse.”
Please feel free to comment on, like, follow, or share anything you see here and come back often! Thanks for stopping by!
I also have been known to guest post from time to time…
